OLFACTORY MARKETING PROJECT FOR AUTOGRILL

We have performed a large consumer experience project for Autogrill, the leading global operator in food & beverage services for travelers. The project involved the integration of attitudinal and neuroscientific laboratory measurements with field experimental tests and in-store consumer research.

APPROACH

We adopted our proprietary methodologies to select the most effective fragrances and test their impact on emotions, impulse buying, brand perception, dwell time, and experience. A total of 1600 consumers were involved in our lab and store tests in various store locations.

RESULT

Our results provided clear indications on the increase of positive Emotions and Satisfaction of customers in the stores. The implementation of the selected olfactory strategy led to a striking increase of Impulse buying and improved the perception of the stores on specific traits leading to a general improvement of the Customer Experience.

ROLL OUT

Scientific Results informed the implementation of the olfactory strategy on a global scale and provided important novel insight on how to manage the in-store consumer experience to increase impulse buying, satisfaction and loyalty.
